On the move: week 1 by Amy

This evenings class was fun! To be honest, I have not really played around with Aperture priority mode, and it was fun to experiment with it. I learned more as the evening went on. In my first picture, I fixed the aperture, but did not touch the ISO at all. While Janet is in focus and Mathieu is slightly blurred, the entire background is not as blurred as it can be. In the following pictures (which was after we regrouped and went out a second time) my pictures are more blurred (I had my AH, HA! moment) and played more with raising my ISO (to get the faster shutter speed), zooming out to the maximum and opening my aperture as high as possible  to achieved the assignment!

I have learned something new in every one of Avi's classes.

Tonight

Hi guys,
For tonight's class, please only bring your camera, in a discrete bag.
No tripods, or extra flash.
If you have extra lens, that's fine, but I can't emphasize enough about discretion.
See you tonight!!

CAR POOL

Hi Mathieu,

I live in Beaconsfield and have a space to go to Carrefour.  Give me your phone number and I will call you to arrange.  Janet

Self portrait

Hi,

Very good idea to have a blog ! I'm Mathieu, I'm new in the world of the photography. I like traveling and capture beautiful pictures. I take this course to develop my skills to capture good moments and beautiful places.

Moreover, I would like to know if someone has a free place in his car to go in Carefour Laval tomorrow. I live on Pierrefonds Boul close to Saint-Charles. I lost my car last Monday, the reason why I was not present in the first course.

Thank you

Mathieu

In the next 5 weeks i hope to get more comfortable with this camera, until now I always set the camera to full auto and used it this way. I have too get out more and just take pictures and then analyze them at home.

During the next 5 weeks I hope to feel more comfortable with the many different camera settings. I am looking forward to our outings and the great photos that we will share.
And yes, Avi I took this picture myself. It was not as easy as I thought it would be!

self port

Are these new pictures that you guys have taken of yourselves?

Janet's self portrait

My goal over the next 5 weeks is to learn how to use my camera more efficiently and effectively so that my photographs will capture those interesting and special moments and tell great stories!

Self Portrait: Eva

Over the next five weeks, I hope to learn more about my camera and its features. I want to improve the quality and composition of my photos, and learn how to take great pictures in different environments, lighting situations, etc. without having to refer to a manual to figure out what settings my camera should be on, and without having to take five hundred pictures before I get a good one! I'm very excited about this class!

Still waiting to see everyone's self portrait!
