Class @ Carrefour Laval

Tuesday's class at Carrefour Laval was fun -- I really thought we were going to get thrown out!

I really should have brought my camera because one of my "Ah ha!" moments was that I'm not a big fan of Nikons (sorry to pretty much everyone in class!)... but it could have just been my dad's camera (sorry Dad!).

So by the time Amy pointed out the bracketing button on the side and we got the metering figured out, I managed a few decent shots. It was neat to see that the more you zoom in, the fuzzier the background gets. So...

Here is Amy near Rockport.

Here's Amy again in front of "Living" (paparazzi picture through a plant)

And Amy again next to Rockport... we were trying to get some neat shots with the lighting they had in the storefront. The background is a little blurred.
[ISO 4000, 50mm, f4.8, 1/200]

And here are two pictures I took of my dad and Ron earlier in the evening, the first up close, the second a little further away, blurring out the back.
[ISO 1600, 18mm, f3.5, 1/160]

[ISO 1600, 175mm, f6.3, 1/40]

I plan on experimenting more with my own camera to really figure this out!
